Imprint
Last updated: May 7, 2026 · Effective date: May 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Advait Nitinkumar Kushe, doing business as Imprint ("Imprint," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use the Imprint mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using Imprint, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Contents
1. Who We Are
Imprint is a couples connection app. Two paired users ("Partners") engage in shared activities — mini-games, "how well do you know your partner" questions, and real-world connection prompts (sharing photos, voice memos, daily check-ins) — to care for a shared in-app pet and grow a shared progress score ("bondXP").
The Service is intended for adult users (18+) in committed personal relationships. It is not directed to children.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information. When you create an account using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive a unique account identifier and, depending on your sign-in choices, your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we receive a relay email address rather than your real one.
- Profile information. Your display name, the animal you select (cat, dog, velociraptor, or other), and any optional profile details you choose to provide.
- Pairing information. A 6-character invite code generated for or entered by you to link your account to your Partner's account.
- Activity content. Answers you submit to in-app questions ("how well do you know your partner," trivia, "would you rather," "who is more likely"), photos you share through connection prompts, voice memos you record, daily check-in text, and any other content you create within the Service ("User Content").
- Communications. If you contact us for support, we collect the contents of those messages and your contact details.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and technical information. Device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone, IP address (transient — used for routing and abuse prevention), and a device-scoped identifier used for push notification delivery.
- Push notification tokens. Apple Push Notification service (APNs) tokens, relayed through Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), so we can deliver notifications to your device. Tokens rotate; we discard stale tokens.
- Usage and engagement data. Which screens you visit, which activities you complete, streak counts, session lengths, in-app navigation events, and feature interactions. We use this for product analytics and to compute your shared bondXP and streak.
- Diagnostic data. Crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication providers. Apple and Google share the limited account fields described above when you sign in.
- Payment processors. If you purchase a subscription, the Apple App Store handles your payment. Apple shares with us the fact and status of your subscription (active, lapsed, refunded, renewal date) but not your full payment details (card number, billing address, etc.).
- Analytics providers. We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog receives event data tied to a pseudonymous identifier.
2.4 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts list, microphone or camera input outside of the moments you intentionally record/capture content within the app, health data, or financial account information.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Service — authenticate you, link you with your Partner, deliver activity prompts, render your shared habitat, compute streaks and bondXP, and sync state across your and your Partner's devices.
- Deliver notifications — send push notifications about activities your Partner has initiated or completed, reminders to maintain your streak, and other Service-related messages. You can disable notifications in iOS settings.
- Process subscriptions — verify subscription status with the App Store and unlock paid features.
- Improve the Service — analyze usage patterns to fix bugs, prioritize features, and improve onboarding and retention.
- Communicate with you — respond to support requests and send Service-related announcements (e.g., material policy updates).
- Maintain safety and security — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from authorities and enforce our agreements.
4. How Information Is Shared Between Partners
Imprint is fundamentally a two-person product. By design, certain information you create in the app is shared with the Partner you have paired with:
- Activity participation and outcomes — your Partner can see when you complete an activity, your scores, and your answers to comparison questions.
- User Content — photos, voice memos, and check-ins you submit through connection activities are visible to your Partner.
- Engagement signals — your last-active state and whether you are currently in a session may be visible to your Partner so they can coordinate real-time games.
- Profile — your display name and chosen animal are visible to your Partner.
Once shared with your Partner, content cannot be unilaterally retracted from their experience. Your Partner may have already viewed, screenshotted, or otherwise retained the content. If you unpair from your Partner, we will sever the link from your account, but we cannot guarantee deletion of content already delivered to their device or recalled from their memory.
Do not share content you would not want your Partner to see, retain, or share onward.
5. How We Share Information with Third Parties
We share information with the following categories of third parties only as needed to operate the Service:
- Cloud infrastructure. We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions) operated by Google LLC to host and run the Service. Firebase processes your account, Partner pairing, activity data, and User Content on our behalf as a data processor.
- Analytics. PostHog processes pseudonymous event data on our behalf for product analytics.
- Payment processing. Apple Inc. processes all subscription payments through the App Store under Apple's own privacy policy.
- Push notification delivery. Apple's APNs delivers push messages dispatched from our backend.
- Service providers. We may engage other vendors (e.g., crash reporting, customer support tooling) under written agreements requiring them to use information only for the purposes we direct.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is required by law, necessary to enforce our Terms, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Imprint, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Imprint is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Data Retention
- Account and Partner pairing data: retained while your account is active.
- Activity data and User Content: retained while your account is active so that you and your Partner can review history. You may delete individual content where the in-app interface allows; otherwise, content is removed when your account is deleted.
- Diagnostic and analytics data: retained for up to 24 months in identifiable form, then aggregated or deleted.
- Backups: deletion may take up to 90 days to propagate through encrypted backups.
- Legal holds: we may retain certain information longer where required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your personal information, subject to limited exceptions (e.g., we may retain transactional records for tax compliance).
- Port your information to another service in a machine-readable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at advait@gomonkeydev.com. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy
Imprint is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable threshold). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at advait@gomonkeydev.com and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
Imprint is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers. Where required by law (e.g., for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
